Welcome to Beth’s Journey!
A little bit about me… my name is Beth (if you couldn’t guess from the title of my blog) and I am a 28 year old foodie working and living in Washington, DC. I originally grew up in Connecticut, but came to DC for undergrad and never left. Somehow that means its been almost 11 years since I moved here… crazy!
I have struggled with my weight for my ENTIRE life and had been overweight for as long as I can remember. I decided to change this once and for all in March 2009 when I joined Weight Watchers and it completed transformed me, both inside and out. I have now lost a total of 88 pounds since my peak weight of 250 pounds 6 years ago, finally hitting my goal weight of 164 pounds in May 2011.
I started Beth’s Journey in February 2010, after I’d already lost most of the weight, as a way to document the last leg of my weight loss journey and to share my story with others. Healthy living and cooking became serious passions of mine once I decided to change my life, and I wanted a creative outlet to openly discuss my struggles and showcase my recipes, so that’s how Beth’s Journey came to be.
