Wednesday Weight Check #4

Hi guys! I hope everyone enjoyed yesterday’s post from Matt. If you didn’t have a chance to read it, I suggest you take a minute to do so because it’s pretty powerful stuff. I’m looking for more submissions for the In Her/His Words series, so if you’d like to share your story, please email me at bethsjourneyblog at gmail dot com.

Without further ado, here’s my weigh in video with yesterday’s results.

I wish I had more of a say in the still shot shown above…

I am pleased with the movement on the scale, though of course I wish it was more. These are THE HARDEST pounds I’ve ever lost – and trust me, I’ve lost (and gained) many, many pounds in my lifetime. It’s frustrating, but I know the only thing I can do is keep on trucking.

One thing that is really good is that I feel completely in control. I haven’t had any out of control eating in weeks and it’s not even something that is tempting me, which I think is a good sign that I am feeding my body what it needs, honoring my cravings, and making smart decisions about fueling.

My goals for the next week are:

    • Eat less processed foods (minus the Salted Caramel Smoothies I bought yesterday…)
    • Eat more protein (switching out pop/baked chips for cottage cheese at lunch, eating a bigger serving of Greek yogurt at breakfast, etc)
    • Keep on going with mindful eating and being active

If I do all these things, I hope to be reunited with the 170s at this time next week!

Tell me… what are you most proud of from this past week?

Hooray!!! Way to go on the 1.2 loss, Beth ! That’s great. 🙂

What are these salted caramel smoothies you talk about? Is it a new WW flavor? Sounds delish!

I know you’ll see the 170s next week- keep at it girl!

    Hi Beth,

Congratulations on a loss this week! I only recently discovered your blog in my search for some inspiration in my own journey to a healthier lifestyle. I felt very connected to your story right away and I hope to be able to share my story with you sometime soon!

Hi Beth! Yay for you on seeing some movement on the scale! I was always so depressed when I’d look back at a month and see that the avg weight loss was 1 lb/week — we all want those 2 lb weeks, but hey, the overall downward trend is what we want! One thing my WW leader mentioned to me was eating more dairy, which you probably already know about, but when I did this – bing! Plateau went away. Just an idea for this next week of your goal of less processed food for you — sounds like you already have that plan in place with eating more Greek yogurt this next week! Fage greek yogurt with honey drizzle… yum!!! Works for me as a dessert!

I know the scale isn’t moving as quickly as you had hoped with this kind of effort, but I watched last weeks video then this one back -to-back and your face is showing a big difference! Hopefully the video/photos will help encourage you to continue on when the scale isn’t. I too, struggle to find that “happy place” when the scale doesn’t seem to be moving as quick as I think it should be when I have put in great efforts. As a wise fish said,” Just keep Swimming, just keep swimming…” and you will find your “Nemo” at the end of the adventure!

That was a good loss for a tough week. The fact that it’s been so tough for you to lose these pounds now will definitely help you work with people who are going through those struggles as well. It’s like a training session for you. 😉

What I am most proud of from the past week is that I was out of town at a blogging conference, but I still managed to workout for an hour most mornings!
