Wednesday Weight Check #10
Another Wednesday, another weigh in vlog…
Not the best result this week, but also not the end of the world.
This week I was up a little bit, but I honestly wouldn’t have been surprised if I was up by much more so I’ll take the small gain.
For the most part since recommitting 10 weeks ago, I’ve felt really in control with my eating. I’ve splurged many times throughout those weeks of course, but it never felt like it was spiraling out of control. This week though, it started right after weigh in and just wove itself throughout the week. I’ve felt like over the last many weeks theres been a day or two where I’m like, “Woah there Beth, reel it in” (I don’t talk to myself, I swear…) but it’s never been more than 1 or 2 days during a week.
I’m not really sure what caused it exactly, but this week I felt off track more than on track, and it just wasn’t a good feeling. I’d had a big dinner planned for Saturday night which I was looking forward to (and could have reasonably induldged on without gaining had I planned my week better, but I just had slip up after slip up leading into the dinner, and it just sucked. Especially because I knew this week would be even more challenging…
But, enough of that – today is a new day.
I’m actually leaving for San Francisco tonight and I am SOOOO excited. My goal for this week is to have fun, try to make good decisions about when to indulge, keep up with exercise, and enjoy myself! If I can maintain or keep my gain to less than a pound, I’ll be happy. If it’s more than that, I will deal. If I lose, something isn’t right. ![]()
What’s your favorite place to visit in the states?
Mine is a tie between New Orleans and San Fran!

My favorite place to visit in the U.S. is NYC. I haven’t been since March and I miss it like crazy!

October 17, 2012 at 10:35 am (216 days ago)I LOVE SAN FRANCISCO. Mine would be a 3-way tie between SF, Denver (CO) and Sedona (AZ). I clearly love hills and mountains, but I live in the flattest place ever.
San Francisco is a temptress, but if you can just walk up those hills as much as possible, the activity takes care of itself! Have fun!

I’ve been enjoying your vlogs so much and your commentary on WW that I rejoined last week. Happy to weigh in for week one tonight!

October 17, 2012 at 10:51 am (216 days ago)Have a good trip! And I totally agree with how hard it can be to lose, but how easy and quick we can gain – weight loss is tough!

October 17, 2012 at 5:30 pm (216 days ago)Have a great trip! I am a California girl and SF is one of my favorite places on earth. One thing that helps me keep things in perspective when I’m on vacation and I feel like I just want to go hog wild (pun intended), is that I try to focus on the people and the memories, rather than the food. For a person who is a self-professed foodie, this can be challenging. Just try to live in the moment – honestly, you will be having so much fun you will not miss that 5th bite of pie or whatever. A taste is usually sufficient. Also, try to walk everywhere — lots of hills = great workout!

October 17, 2012 at 9:59 pm (215 days ago)Today is definitely a new day! Everyone has those days/weeks, the important thing is doing/saying exactly what you’ve said by starting today as a new day and not letting it completely derail our efforts.
I am jealous of your trip to San Fran! I have never been but (of course) have wanted to go for a very long time. Cannot wait to see pictures! I love New Orleans too btw (although my liver does not love it as much)

October 18, 2012 at 3:18 am (215 days ago)I love SF! It’s my favorite city and place to visit. I used to live there (4 wild years in my 20s) and had a ball. You better enjoy all the wonderful restaurants and don’t worry about the weight gain too much–how often can you stand on one street and decide which restaurant to try by nationality? Indian, Korean, Japanese, Mexican, Spanish, Chinese, Burmese, Vietnamese, French, Italian, Irish, Russian–in one city block?! If you walk those hills, you’ll burn plenty and deserve those special treats! I can’t wait to read about it. Take pictures!

October 18, 2012 at 9:21 am (215 days ago)Have a great trip! You have the right attitude, just be mindful of what you eat, and why you’re eating it! Just enjoy yourself and don’t make it about the food.
One of my fav cities in the US is San Diego. Haven’t been in over 10 years but I love it there. NYC is also another fav.

October 18, 2012 at 11:35 am (215 days ago)Have fun on your trip! I haven’t been to San Francisco since I was little and want to make it there soon! I think maintaining/minimizing gain on a trip is the best way to go…you need to enjoy the trip after all.

Your blog is very inspiring and I attended one of the meetings you led and it was great. I am having an extremely hard time losing weight and was wondering if you wanted to grab a coffee sometime? Maybe you could give me some tips. Shoot me an e-mail if you want to set that up. Thanks!
