The Plan: Take Three

I honestly cannot BELIEVE that Christmas is less than a week away… and that we’re so close to 2012! Insane.

I had a really good weekend, starting with my work holiday party on Friday. I stuck with my word and went way overboard on both food and drinking and ended up home in bed by 9pm on Friday! Haha. Granted, we did start drinking at 2, but I was one of the first to go home. I just can’t hang like I used to! Saturday I just laid low, got my nails done, and watched Netflix!

Now that I’m done with Lost, my new Netflix obsession has become Breaking Bad… it’s SO good. I’m into the second season (only because the first is only 7 episodes) and I think it’s just as addictive as Lost! Only seasons 1-3 are on Netflix though so I’m going to have to form a plan of attack once I’m ready for season 4, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.

Sunday involved a great workout (40 minute run, 20 min stair master) followed by a boozy buffet brunch and then more Breaking Bad… Not a bad way to end the weekend!

This is a short week for me because I leave mid-day on Thursday to drive to NYC. I’m staying at my sisters on Thursday and then we’re driving up to her house in Woodstock on Friday morning for the weekend and to spend Christmas… I am so excited!

Here’s the plan to get me from now to then food-wise:

Breakfast Lunch Snack Dinner
Monday Oatmeal w/spinach, garlic + cheese Red Lentil Soup (WW Recipe) Carrots + Hummus Holiday Potluck – Sweet Potato Red Bean Stew (recipe coming this week!)
Tuesday English Muffin w/PB + Banana Veggie wrap w/hummus, cheese + avocado Apple + Cheese Tofu w/veggies + brown rice, peanut sauce
Wednesday Oatmeal w/pumpkin + greek yogurt Leftover tofu + veggies w/peanut sauce over greens Hummus + Veggies, Apple Out for dinner
Thursday Egg whites on a sandwich thin w/cheese + salsa Veggie wrap w/hummus, cheese + avocado Car snacks! Dinner in NYC with my sis!

And workout wise:

    • Sunday: 40 min run, 20 min stairmaster (check!)
    • Monday: The Shred or Bootcamp
    • Tuesday: Spinning
    • Wednesday: Body Pump + Cardio
    • Thursday: REST

And rather than set concrete goals for the week, I want to work out more than not, eat balanced meals, and most of all get to NYC on as little stress as possible. A little shopping, a lot of gift wrapping and packing, and a lot of hours in the car lay ahead this week!

Are you traveling for the holidays this year or staying put? When do you leave?

Beth, I have had similar obsessions with tv shows on Netflix! (Friday Night Lights, Rescue Me, and Gossip Girl)…when the last season of Rescue Me was not on Netflix, I streamed it through Amazon On Demand Video…I thought it was worth the $20!
Maybe I’ll try Lost next based on your recommendation!

I’ve been really into Gossip Girl after finishing Weeds. If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it!

I don’t do Netflix… I dvr a gazillion shows throughout the week and already spend way too much time keeping up with them. 🙂
My husband’s parents live in Boston and Tampa and my family is local. We’re staying put and visiting with them (but have a Florida trip planned in January). And I have whole week off work- YAY!

Working out more than not has been my only real workout goal all month. Starting a new job + the holidays? I know there’s only so much I can do, so I don’t want to set myself up for failure.

    Good plan!

We’re staying local. I don’t know that I could put travel on top of everything else and stay sane.

    Enjoy the holiday!

NYC, really!? Do you want to get together while you’re in the city or will you be rushing like mad? I don’t leave until Friday morning!

I’m a stay at home girl when I’m at my parents for the holidays, it’s just so much nicer not having to travel so much with all the stress already! Sounds like your holiday will be nice!

Oh, and that red lentil soup sounds great! I need to make that this week!

Unless you count driving 30 minutes to either set of grandparents’ houses travelling (I don’t) then no, I’m not going anywhere, which is fine by me! 🙂

NYC sounds super fun! Have a great time! We aren’t traveling this year. We were planning to take a quick trip but then we got a new puppy so that cancelled those plans!

My husband I and got really into Breaking Bad a few months ago. He watched a bunch of episodes ahead of me and I still haven’t caught up so we haven’t been able to watch it together yet.

    Seasons Greetings!

I’ll have to give Breaking Bad a second chance. I keep hearing good reviews but the first couple of episodes never hooked me. But I do love Netflix TV!
