Snap Out of It

I am slipping.

Last night turned into an unexpected and even more so unnecessary night out (on a Monday!). I didn’t go grocery shopping like I was supposed to after being away for the weekend, and I didn’t get up this morning to run because of the late night out.

I realize that a few days is not THAT big of a deal, but I need to snap out of it before it gets even more out of hand. I missed my long run this weekend because of a bachelorette, so I haven’t worked out in any form since this past Friday.

After work today, I’m working at a Weight Watchers meeting, and should be out around 8 or so. Normally I’d use this as an excuse to just go home and relax, but not tonight.

In the next 24 hours, I MUST:

  • Drink a ton of water
  • Run 5 miles
  • Go grocery shopping and make a meal plan
  • Get a good night’s sleep
  • Not drink alcohol 😉

What’s one healthy thing you want to focus on for today?

Don’t give yourself too hard of a time, but you’re right you just have to get back on that horse.

This morning I went to Yoga, it’s been forever! Now I just have to keep going!

Getting my ass to the gym instead of flaking out like I have been the past week. Yikes!

You’ll do great Beth! I have lots to do tonight too — I spent last night with my sister (she moves back to TX today!) so I skipped out on all responsibilities yesterday.

One healthy thing I need to do today: get to bed early!

Don’t worry about it. Sometimes it’s okay to take a (short) break from counting points/calories and exercise. Every once in awhile I’ll take a weekend off just to mentally reset. But I immediately start back into the “usual” routine Monday morning!

That was the plan for yesterday…. and then when champagne was opened at work at 4pm it went downhill. 🙂 But today is a new day!

Beth, I can totally, totally relate! Focus on drinking that water and eat healthy, balanced meals today. I think sleep is the most important thing, so get to bed as early as you can! Good luck getting through the day. It’s kind of rough starting the week off in catch-up mode, but you’ve got this!

Hope last night was fun 😉

I have to say this post really hits home. I’ve been feeling the same way and know that I need to snap out of it before things slip further.

My plan for today. NO JUNK. One day can turn into two… if slipping is a slipery slop, good days can snowball!

I think that’s been the biggest difference for me this time around of being healthy – getting back on track sooner rather than later. Everyone has slip ups, you just have to be in tune and make adjustments accordingly!

Wow, champagne at 4 at work. It sounds like you work in a fun place : )
You’ll get back on the right track with no problems.

I think getting to bed early tonight would be great. Usually I’m doing good to be in bed before 1am (and I’m up by 7am). That’s just not enough sleep. I’d really like to be in bed by 11pm.

It was my boss’s 25th (!!) anniversary as CEO so there was a good reason. Generally my office is quite young and fun though, which is nice!

These summer dog days can be so tough! I find that putting on my running gear little by little helps get me mentally ready. Even when I don’t really feel like going out there. Once my shoes are tied; NOTHING stops me!

I always try to lay my gear out the night before so that I take away every excuse. That’s the plan for tonight! Wish me luck. 🙂
