Seven Links!

I’m SURE you’ve seen this floating around the blog world, so I was so excited to be tagged by  Theodora, Katie, and Caitlin to get to participate! I don’t normally do these kind of surveys, but I think this one is particularly fun because you get to look back over posts and highlight some of your favorites that many readers may never have seen!

Here are the deets:

To unite bloggers in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long, but not forgotten, blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.

    1. Blogger is nominated to take part
    2. Blogger publishes his/her 7 links on his/her blog – 1 link for each category
    3. Blogger nominates up to 5 more bloggers to take part
    4. These bloggers publish their 7 links and nominate 5 more bloggers
    5. And so it goes on!

1.) Most Beautiful– I don’t know if beautiful is the right word for it, but I love the post called My Turning Point. Every time I read it and look at those before pictures, it makes me tear up. I’m so happy I took control of my life even though I had to make a lot of sacrifices along the way.

2.) Most Popular – My step-by-step recipes are always some of my post popular posts… so besides the Top Recipes page, my Zucchini Burger recipe tends to get a lot of well-deserved traffic.

3.) Most Controversial – I tend not to be too controversial on here because I mostly stick with healthy living/weight loss topics, but one post that’s a little controversial is Fat Girl Mentality. Some of the comments helped me to realize that the mentality doesn’t really have anything to do with size – everyone feels that way at one time or another, and many women are made to feel not good enough for reasons other than their weight.

4.) Most Helpful – I really love my Whole Foods Weight Watcher Ideas series. These posts are full of some great meal and snack ideas that are good for WWers and non-WWers alike. I still go back and reference them when looking to change things up!

5.) Surprise Success – Readers like it when you’re open and honest, so I guess it shouldn’t be TOO much of a surprise, but my little series about my own debt got so much traffic and attention and continues to bring in new readers!

6.) Not Enough Attention – To be honest, I think some of my posts get WAY more attention than they deserve, rather than the other way around. 🙂 One thing that sticks out is the Make Your Own Microwave Popcorn. I still think it’s a genius idea, but it never really caught on!

7.) My Most Proud – I’m glad to say that there are several posts I am proud of, but there are two that really stick out in my mind and tie for this one. The first is my first half marathon race recap, because crossing that finish line was a moment that made me realize I truly had changed my life and it was just such a monumental feeling. The second was the day that I hit my goal weight, because I honestly never thought the day would come! It still tears me up when I read that post even though it wasn’t THAT long ago, but it took me a long time to get there and I really feel like I earned it.

And now, my turn!!

I tag:

Are any of the posts that I pointed out ones you’ve never seen before? Do you think I missed any big ones I should have included?

I’m glad that people have found your blog due to your debt posts — I really do think that so many people have that issue and DO NOT TALK ABOUT IT! Thanks for sharing your story because I think the more people are comfortable talking about it, the more comfortable they are asking for help and doing something about it.

I think your post on managing debt was super helpful too!

I also need to buy some paper bags for my popcorn kernels..bc lately they have been burning on the stove. There is nothing worse than the smell of burnt popcorn! Gross.

I love reading these posts b/c it allows me to find older posts that went up before I started reading a lot of healthy living blogs. Your turning point post was amazing. It really inspired me to get back into the game and stop putting off losing weight. Thanks for posting this 🙂

Yay! I’m glad you did this because I’ve still not read through your whole blog. Now I get some highlights.

I really enjoyed both your turning point post and the debt posts. The debt ones actually inspired me to talk about my own debt and paying it off! 🙂

Re #6 – That is a fantastic post! I’ve had the same box of microwave popcorn sitting in my pantry since you posted that and inspired me to pop my own!

Isn’t it strange which posts get the most attention and ones we’re really proud of get cricket sounds….
