Closet Cleanout and An Exercise Rut

Happy Monday!

I haven’t set monthly goals in quite some time, but I think it was a good idea that I wrote some Friday because I already knocked out one of my June goals – cleaning out my closet! I went through everything and pulled out things that I haven’t worn/don’t fit well and put them all in a huge pile to donate:

When I got my style makeover last year, the questions we asked about each piece were:

    • Do I love it?
    • Is it flattering?

I had to answer yes to both of those or else they made it into the pile, which later transformed into brown paper bags which are more presentable.

Exercise Rut

So. I am really struggling with exercise lately. This weekend I did bike around for a couple of hours on Saturday and did a 14 mile ride on Sunday because it was SO gorgeous outside, but I didn’t make it to the gym once last week during the week! I’ve been doing walks to and from work most days (~2.6 miles), but have really been having a hard time doing legitimate exercise and making it a priority. I just haven’t felt like going to the gym!

I think part of it is that I have been insanely busy with work/life (with a pretty big announcement for me coming soon on that one!) and also because I just finished my last long race of the season, which left me feeling pretty defeated. I have had lots of obligations/things I want to do after work that have involved alcohol, which makes it hard to wake up early the next day to exercise. But these are all just excuses. I need to get a handle on this before it gets out of hand!

So here’s where I need your help.

What’s your #1 tip for busting out of an exercise rut?
